One to One : General English

Hours per week: 25 hours One to One + 5 hours (lunch with tutor)
Levels: Beginner to Advanced
Course length: Minimum one week, maximum two weeks
Excursions: 4

This course caters for all levels from beginner to advanced. The individual attention of the one to one lesson allows the student to develop a range of language skills at his own pace thus greatly increasing their English Language competence in the areas most useful to them.

Depending on your level of English we can design a course to meet your specific needs and requirements.
The excursions are designed to provide further immersion and practice in English and to appeal to the students interests.

Sample Timetable and topics for one or two weeks:

Monday Full initial English assessment and level assessment including 15 minute interview and report. Break Needs Analysis: students discuss their weaknesses, reasons for learning English, expectations of the course to set goals for their learning. Lunch Excursion
Tuesday Grammar revision focusing on the student's special needs. BreakReading and discussion. Listening and discussion. Lunch Vocabulary development and conversation techniques.
Wednesday Introduction of oral and written projects: a poster presentation and a written description about a topic of the student interest. BreakPresentation and discussion. Lunch Excursion
Thursday Functional Language: Example: Expressing dissatisfaction and making a complaint.BreakVideo work: watching a TV programme relating to making complaints. Listening, to understand the content and pick out language. Lunch Using the new vocabulary, writing a formal letter of complaint.
Friday Telephone vocabulary. Listening and discussion Speaking and discussion. BreakProgress reports and assignments Lunch Excursion

Monday Testing and review on areas from the first week. BreakComprehension practice to help the student acquire a comfortable understanding. Lunch Excursion
Tuesday Review of the grammar points still needing attention to develop accuracy in the used language BreakGrammar exercises. Lunch Vocabulary development and conversation techniques.
Wednesday Introduction to oral project, the topics will always be in relation to the student’s interests.BreakPresentation and discussion. Lunch Excursion
Thursday BBC News Listening and discussion. BreakTalking about national, international news. New vocabulary. Lunch Newspapers and magazines.
Friday Interactive and dynamic oral practice sessions to encourage the expression of ideas and opinions, incorporating new vocabulary and idioms as well as manipulating sophistic and more complex language structures. BreakFinal assessment and report. Lunch Excursion

Please note that throughout the programme students are actively encouraged to express their opinions. The teacher provides texts and photocopies from a variety of resources.
